Climate change in the Arctic — new theme

We have launched a new teaching theme on climate change in the Arctic, with a special focus on the Greenland ice sheet and the changes occurring in the region.

The theme gives students the opportunity to work with one of the most current topics of our time and understand how climate change affects both nature and people in the Arctic.

Focus on Greenland’s ice sheet

The Greenland Ice Sheet plays an important role in the Earth’s climate system. When the ice melts, it affects both sea levels and the ecosystems that depend on the Arctic environment.

Through the theme, students gain insight into:

  • How climate change is affecting the Arctic
  • Why Greenland’s ice sheet is important for the global climate
  • what consequences the changes may have for nature and society

Teaching with current perspectives

The material is designed to make complex climate issues more understandable for students. Using teaching activities, reflection tasks and professional perspectives, students can work with the topic in an engaging and investigative way.

An important topic for future generations

Climate change is a global challenge, and the Arctic is one of the places in the world where changes are happening most rapidly. Therefore, it is important that students gain knowledge about the area and an understanding of the processes that shape our climate.

The new theme gives teachers a strong starting point for working with climate change in teaching and creating dialogue in the classroom about one of the most important challenges of our time.
