About Polarskolen

Our mission

Bringing knowledge of Greenland and the Faroe Islands into the classroom

Knowledge leads to understanding – Understanding builds community

Polaskolen is a Danish educational organisation that has worked since 2017 to strengthen teaching about Greenland, the Faroe Islands, and the Danish Realm in primary and secondary education.

We develop free teaching materials that give students a deeper understanding of the Arctic, the North Atlantic, and the connections that bind Greenland, the Faroe Islands and Denmark together.

Our materials cover subjects such as geography, biology, Danish, history, and social studies, and are designed for all levels – from primary school to upper secondary education.
