Dear teacher
Thank you for choosing to work with On the Way Together. I am happy that you and your students will be involved.
The material was created based on travels in Greenland, the Faroe Islands and Denmark, where I have met many young people. Something I have become aware of is that there is a lot we do not know about each other. I want to change that.
About the process
On the Way Together is about youth life in Greenland, the Faroe Islands and Denmark – the three countries that are connected in what we call the Commonwealth.
Through the process – and video interviews – the students meet young people from the three countries and work with their stories, experiences and perspectives. Each video lasts between 14 – 17 minutes, but can be divided into smaller parts and watched in shorter sequences, replayed, etc.
Course structure
The course contains seven themes:
- The Kingdom of Denmark
- Everyday Life
- Future Dreams
- Nature and Climate Change
- Identity and Community
- Three Essays
- A Good Youth Life
The themes can be used together or separately – depending on what suits your teaching. The teaching material itself consists of a student booklet, teacher guide, video interviews, interview questions, answer sheets (digital + analogue), Kahoots (digital and a analogue) and Links to knowledge.
It is recommended that the teacher, in connection with preparation and teaching, compare the student booklet and teacher guide.
