Intro
In Theme 4, the focus is on young people’s relationship with Nature and the changes that affect it and us.
Here, students gain insight into the role nature plays in everyday life in Greenland, the Faroe Islands and Denmark. In addition, there is a conversation about the consequences of climate change and changes in landscapes, wildlife and human lives.
Content and direction
The theme provides an insight into nature, human-caused changes and the challenges associated with this.
Here, among other things, the focus is on:
• The importance of nature in the three countries
• Climate change and consequences
• Biodiversity and animal and plant life
• The sea and fishing
• The use of agricultural land and natural resources
Video interviews (approx. 15 min.)
The young people in the three countries talk about their relationship with nature and their thoughts on climate change.
It may be a good idea to take notes during the interview – and collect them afterwards.
Conversation in class
The theme can open up different directions in the conversation. Some students like to talk about climate and global challenges. Others take their starting point from their own everyday life – and relationship with nature.
For example, the conversation could revolve around:
• How nature is experienced and used in everyday life
• What is perceived as “nature” in different places
• What concrete changes in nature and climate are making an impression

Perspective
Theme 4 brings in nature and climate change as a common condition for the three countries.
Students are invited to:
• See connections between local and global conditions
• Understand how nature and society are interconnected
• Reflect on their own role in a changing world
Theme 1 -Kahoot – digital and analog
If the class is working digitally, they can access Kahoot via link and complete it as a shared activity. The questions are also available in an analog version. They can be used if you are working without a screen – or if you want to take the questions at your own pace, e.g. as a shared review in class. The Kahoots checklist is included as an appendix at the back of the learning guide.
