​STUDENT ACTIVITIES GRADES 1 - 3

Here, you can find a selection of our student activities for downloading. All of the materials are currently in Danish, but a quick skim through Google- translate will give you all the information you need to get started!
The student activities is made so that it can be used without the participation of Polarskolen. It should be as easy as possible to use our activities, "Plug and play" and then you are up and running. At Polarskolen we are also very happy to come to your school and teach or kickstart the activities.

GREENLAND AND THE FAROE ISLANDS. AN EXCITING INTRODUCTION TO GRADES  1 - 3

​We want to make it fun and exciting for the young students to learn about Greenland and the Faroe Islands. We have produced six large laminated maps 3 x 3 meters. We will divide the students into teams and then the students will travel on an Expedition to the Faroe Islands and Greenland. In a playful way, we measure the distance from Denmark to Greenland and the Faroe Islands, we measure the size of the countries and get the flags placed in the right places. The students have to guess which animals live where? We have to scare polar bears away, guess where the legends come from and listen to music from Greenland and the Faroe Islands. We will switch between working with the maps and doing different competitions with lots of activity. It is best to be outside on a lawn, but if it is winter wet and cold, a large gym can also be used.
